Pearl River's Royals Win MacRobbie Tournament of Champions

The AAA Pearl River Royals defeated the Nanuet Thunder, 9-6, Saturday at Wilhelm Field to win the MacRobbie Tournament of Champions.

The Royals became the first team from Pearl River to win Minors Division tournament, held by Nanuet Little League each year in memory of Michael MacRobbie, who was 12 when he passed away in 2000. Michael MacRobbie's brother, Ryan, played for the Nanuet Thunder and his father, Chris, managed the team.

The Royals completed their season 17-0, including their league championship and three games in the MacRobbie Tournament. Brian Doherty drove in five runs and pitched four innings for the Royals in the deciding game. Jack Michaelson had two hits, two RBI and two runs scored.
