Police Charge Chestnut Ridge Man With Attempted Murder
He and a woman were injured in an incident Sunday morning.
CHESTNUT RIDGE, NY — A stabbing incident in Chestnut Ridge on Sunday ended with a woman hospitalized and a man treated for self-inflicted injuries and arrested.
Ramapo police said they were called at 6:05 a.m. They arrived to find a woman who had sustained an injury. She was transported to Westchester Medical Center by the William P. Faist Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
The suspect, who was still there, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital for self-inflicted injuries, police said.

After he was released, Jose Cevallos-Moscoso was charged with attempted murder 2nd degree, attempted assault 1st degree, assault 2nd degree and criminal possession of a weapon 4th degree.
The 50-year-old Chestnut Ridge resident was arraigned by the Hon. Judge Alan Straus and bail was set at $75,000. He was turned over to the custody of the Rockland County Jail pending future court appearances.
