Mostly Rain With Glimpses Of Sun: Hudson Valley Holiday Weekend

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — March will wind up its virtuoso precipitation performance with more of the same.

Patchy showers are possible overnight Tuesday and Wednesday across the region, before a cold front comes from the Southeast bringing up to an inch of rain.

"The position of the boundary will be key to determining the track of the storm, so we'll watch it closely. The best chances for rain will be closer to the coast," Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather said on Facebook.

Poughkeepsie received more than twice the normal rainfall for March, according to the NWS. This year stacks up quite well against the top 10 wettest Marches in the past 92 years:

Though there's a chance of rain every day, there will be some sun over the holiday weekend, namely Friday and Saturday, the National Weather Service predicts. Though temps will drop into the 30s at night, it'll be in the 50s during the day.

• Wednesday - Cloudy. A chance of light rain and drizzle this morning, then a chance of light rain this afternoon. Highs in the mid 50s. Light and variable winds, becoming southwest around 5 mph this afternoon. Chance of rain 50 percent.
• Tonight - Periods of rain and drizzle. Lows in the mid 40s. South winds around 5 mph in the evening, becoming light and variable. Chance of rain 80 percent.
