118 Year Old Jewelry Business Opens Its First Online Store

After 118 Years in Business, Hudson Valley Jeweler Opens Its First Online Store

After being in business for 118 years with a brick and mortar storefront in Downtown Peekskill, NY, Arthur Weeks and Son Jewelers has opened its first online store just in time for the holidays, according to John Weeks, fourth generation owner. The new store’s online address is www.arthurweeksjewelers.com.

“We know the trend in the jewelry  business is for customers to browse online and then come into the store to see our selections in person. We now offer our customers a seamless buying experience, whether they want to buy online or in store, or some combination of both during this busy holiday season,” said John Weeks.

The retail store, located at 942 South Street, Peekskill, NY, offers a wide selection of diamond rings, pendants, bracelets and earrings as well as lustrous pearls, color gemstones, and unique sterling silver pieces.

The downtown store will be open for extended days and hours:  Tuesday through Friday, 9:30am - 5:30pm, Saturdays, 9:30am - 5pm, and Mondays, December 15 and 22 from 9:30am - 5:30pm to accommodate shoppers.

“We are on a first name basis with many of our customers and have shared many of their most memorable moments, generation after generation.  Quality, integrity and dedication to customer service have been hallmarks of Arthur Weeks and Son Jewelers since 1896 and we take great pride in maintaining our values of honesty and integrity. We especially enjoy seeing our customers during the holidays,” added Weeks.

Weeks attributes the century-plus success of his family’s retail jewelry business to his great-grandfather, grandfather, father and mother, all of whom worked in the family business and all whom focused on providing superior and personalized customer service. John’s father, Doug, met his mother when she came to work at the store as a sales associate in 1954. They were married in 1955 and worked side-by-side until their retirement.
