Apropos Will Offer A 'Spine-Tingling' Halloween Dining Experience

PEEKSKILL, NY — Ask not for whom the dinner bell tolls — it tolls for thee.

Apropos Restaurant at the Abbey Inn & Spa in Peekskill will be serving up a "spine-tingling" Halloween dining experience on Thursday with a special "haunted harvest" prix-fixe menu, curated by the hotel's culinary director, acclaimed celebrity chef Peter Kelly.

The restaurant says that the three-course dinner will be sure to delight food lovers with all of its "spooky twists."

The meal will begin with an appetizer of pumpkin risotto, perfectly complemented by hen of the wood mushrooms, a rich Barolo glaze, and shaved pecorino Romano cheese.

For the entrée, guests will be able to indulge in "witches' braised" short ribs of beef, coated in a flavorful chili and onion crust and served alongside truffle potato purée and roasted Brussels sprouts.

The meal will end on a "sweetly sinister note" with a "black magic" melting chocolate cake, paired with vanilla bean gelato and a touch of crushed raspberry.

For those looking to enhance their haunted experience, Apropos will offer three "ghoulish" cocktails: a blood orange negroni, a very bloody Mary, and a "spirited" bourbon with bitters.

The prix-fixe dinner will be $44.95 per person and will be served from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The full Apropos menu be available a la carte, along with the Hudson Valley Restaurant Week menu.
