Community Update

It does not indicate a conviction.</span></div><h2><b>Tuesday, May 7 </b></h2><span><b><span>4:38 p.m. – </span></b><span>Westchester County Police responded to Montrose Station Road for a  report that a camper in a parking area was blocking access to a nearby park and walking trail. An officer determined that was sufficient room for other vehicles and pedestrians to access the area and that no violation had occurred.</span> <b><br></b></span><b><br></b><h2><b>Friday, May 10  </b></h2><span><span><b>12:29 p.m. –</b> Two Ossining women are scheduled to appear in Cortlandt town court next week after they allegedly tried to steal clothing and jewelry from the Kohl's department store on Route 6.<br><br>Westchester County police arrested I</span>rene Novo, 41, and Maria Direitinho, 39, and charged them with petty larceny, <span>misdemeanor, after they store employees allegedly saw them try to leave the store with merchandise they did not pay for.<br></span></span><br>Novo is accused of trying to steal $298 worth of clothing and Direitinho is accused of trying to steal $855 worth of jewelry and clothing.<br>The women were processed and are due in Cortlandt town court on Friday.<br><br><span><b><span>5:05 p.m. – </span></b>A resident of Lyncrest Road contacted county police with a complaint about the company that had installed a pool on her property. The resident was advised that the dispute was a civil matter that would need to be resolved in court.<b><span><br><br></span></b></span><b><span>6:16 p.m. – </span></b>Westchester County Police responded to a residence on Furnace Dock Road on a report that a 7-year-old was alone in a home.  The officer determined that a 17-year-old sibling was also home and was watching the younger child.<b><br><span><br>9:44 p.m. – </span></b><span>Westchester County Police responded to a residence on 4th Street in Verplanck on a report of a domestic dispute.  An officer determined that a husband and wife had argued outside their home but the dispute was verbal in nature only.</span><b><br></b><h2><b>Saturday, May 11 </b></h2><b><span>5:01 p.m. – </span></b><span>Westchester County Police responded to an accidental alarm activation at a home on Toddville Lane on a report of an activated burglar alarm. The alarm had been activated in error and the premises were secure.</span><b><br><br>5:53 p.m. – </b><span>A 36-year-old Mohegan Lake woman was arrested and charged with petty larceny.<br></span><br>Police arrested Erin Lucido and charged her with petty larceny after she allegedly tried to leave the Kohl's department store on Route 6 without paying for jewelry and sandals.<br><br>She was processed and released to return to Cortlandt town court on May Monday.<b><br></b>
