1. Sen. Greg Ball in Peekskill

Sen. Ball will be touring downtown Peekskill with Mayor Mary Foster this morning at 11 a.m. after visiting the One-Stop Employment Center at 201 South James Street. During the downtown business tour Sen. Ball will stop and talk to business owners to hear about their needs.

2. Indian Point Security Drill

Entergy will be running security drills today and this evening. You may hear simulated weaponry that sounds like actual gunfire.  

3. “Dig Pink” Fundraiser

Lakeland and Walter Panas High School are holding a breast cancer awareness fundraiser at 6 p.m. The event will be the district’s 2nd Annual “Dig Pink” Volleyball Match. All proceeds will go to the Sideout Foundation.

Gymnastics City is holding its 25th Annual cartwheel-a-thon on Sunday Oct. 16 at 2:30 p.m. All donations will go to the Wound Warriors Project.

5. Caitlin Chivonne Polhill Service Information

a Peekskill native, sister, daughter and friend died at age 28 on Oct. 9. The family will hold visiting hours today from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Dorsey-Carlone Funeral Home at 1100 Cortlandt & James Sts., Peekskill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Assumption Church in Peekskill on Friday at 10 a.m.; followed by a prayer service and cremation at Ferncliff Crematory in Hartsdale, NY.
