
A 62-year-old Peekskill man is facing misdemeanor and felony charges after police wrapped up a three-month investigation, authorities say.
Peekskill Police Detectives Anthony Malfitano and Joseph McGann arrested Martin Blakney near the Peekskill Train Station at about 7:20 p.m. June 5. He is accused of possessing heroin.
"On conclusion of Blakney’s arrest, a search warrant was executed at his Nelson Avenue residence resulting in additional drug and drug paraphernalia charges," officials said in a statement.
Authorities charged Blakney with misdemeanor second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, for packaging, and the following felonies: fourth-degree criminal possession of a narcotic drug, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance.
Peekskill Police and the Westchester County Police Narcotics Unit conducted the investigation.
Blakney was held for arraignment. He will be due in Peekskill Justice Court at a later date.
