Cortlandt Hiring For Skate Rink Seasonal Jobs
Town officials said the work will take place from Nov. 25 through March 15.

CORTLANDT, NY — The town of Cortlandt announced job openings in its Recreation Department for seasonal work.
The town is looking to hire a skate guard and skate rink cashier to work from Nov. 25 through March 15.

Skate Guard Position:
$18 per hour

List of Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide on- and off-ice supervision during ice-skating sessions by monitoring skating rink and surrounding area to ensure a safe environment
- Enforce facility rules on and off the ice for patrons’ enjoyment and safety
- Educate patrons about facility rules and policies
- Patrol facility and report any issues to maintenance staff on duty
- Assist patrons in the event of an injury
- Assist patrons in the event of a facility emergency
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- First Aid and CPR certified preferred.
Staff shifts will coincide with Skate Rink hours. The rink will be open to the public Thursday and Friday from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5:30 p.m. through mid-March. Management will work to provide a set schedule for the convenience of the employee.
Skating Rink Cashier:
$18 per hour
List of Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Cashier will attend software training sessions in order to gain a working knowledge of Community Pass software.
- Cashier duties include collecting admission, giving ticket or receipt upon payment; insuring safeguards for cash, checks and office equipment.
- Cashier must count receipts and prepare day end closeout sheet, Cashier will also be responsible for locking all cabinets and doors upon closing for the night.
- During rink hours, the Cashier answers phones and addresses questions referring to skating program information, program/event hours, and driving directions to the facility in a kind and courteous manner
- Cashier will provide effective communication with supervisors regarding guest complaints.
- Employee understands the position requires availability including nights and weekends.
- Management will work to provide a set schedule for the convenience of the employee
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Applicant must be available to work during the hours of operation:
- Thursday – 2:30 p.m. – 7 p.m.
- Friday – 2:30 p.m. – 7 p.m.
- Saturday - 11:30 a.m. - 6 p.m.
- Sunday - 11:30 a.m. - 6 p.m.
