Cortlandt Manor Native Named a '40 Under 40' Rising Star

Cortlandt Manor native Caitlin Snyder, Director of Special Events and Major Gifts Officer at Mercy College, has been named to The Business Council of Westchester’s “40 Under 40” Rising Stars List for 2012.  

The Rising Stars annual list spotlights Westchester County’s young business leaders who are making their mark in their chosen profession.  The 2012 field represents individuals from diverse industries including financial services, construction, real estate, education, healthcare, biotech, information technology, retail, not for profit, and more.

“Each generation has its shining young stars,” said Dr. Marsha Gordon, President/CEO, The Business Council of Westchester. “The Business Council of Westchester is proud to recognize the innovative vision and accomplishments of these young, talented business leaders.  They represent the future of business in Westchester -- the most dynamic and diverse business community in the region.”

 Snyder, a Mercy College graduate from the class of 2005, is recognized for her development work in a difficult economic climate that has ensured Mercy College continues to provide students with an unparalleled educational experience.  In addition to higher education, Snyder is active in civic engagements as a Board Member for the Westchester Coalition for the Hungry and Homeless.  She has been recognized as a 2010 Westchester Wunderkind by Westchester Magazine’s 914INC publication and was also named Westchester’s Best Singer in 2008 by the White Plains Performing Arts Center.

 “It is an honor to be among a distinguished group of people in the ‘40 Under 40’ Rising Stars list,” said Snyder.  “Mercy College provided me with an amazing education and prepared me for achieving success—I have been blessed with the opportunity to work at the same institution where I had such a positive experience and my time as a Mercy College student makes my goal as an Advancement staff member all the more clear.”

The Rising Stars awards ceremony celebrating the honorees was held on June 7,  at MasterCard Worldwide, 2000 Purchase Street, Purchase, N.Y.
