Cortlandt Troopers: Man Waved Machete During Dispute

A 36-year-old Garrison man is facing two misdemeanor charges after he allegedly brandished a machete during a landlord-tenant dispute, officials say.

Troopers from the Cortlandt barracks responded to the incident—which started over speeding in the driveway—at a Crompond Road residence around 3 p.m. Saturday. 

Authorities charged the defendant with second-degree menacing, with a weapon, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, misdemeanors. He was sent to the Westchester County Jail on $1,000 bail, pending a court appearance.
