1. Valentine’s Day Benefit Dance
The Peekskill Coffee House is hosting a Valentine’s Day dance to benefit the Peekskill Education Foundation on Sunday, Feb. 13 from 7 to 10 p.m.

Lincoln’s birthday was yesterday, Feb. 12. As part of the birthday celebration and 150th Anniversary of the president-elects stop in Peekskill, The Peekskill Museum will have a that focuses on the relationship between Lincoln and Nelson.
3. Giglio Games on Saturday

The Giglio Games, the all-day basketball extravaganza between Walter Panas and Lakeland, will take place Saturday, Feb. 12 at Lakeland. The same games that were scheduled for the Feb. 5 event will be played at the Feb. 12 event. The schedule is: 9 a.m. girls freshmen game; 11 a.m. boys freshmen game; 1 p.m. girls JV game; 4 p.m. boys JV game; 6 p.m. girls varsity game; and 8 p.m. boys varsity game.
4. Foundation Fest
The Hendrick Hudson Comunity Educational Foundation is hosting an evening of beer and wine tasting on Feb. 12, from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m.
5. Valentine’s Day Weekend

This column is called “Five Things You Need to Know Today,” but we have a few extra announcements and events this weekend we couldn’t leave off – so here are three more things to know today.
6. National Salute to Veterans
February 13 marks the beginning of the National Salute to Veterans, which runs until Feb. 19. The Montrose and Castle Point VA hospitals invite citizens to join them in honoring veterans. The ask for anyone to stop by and visit the veterans to help lift their spirits. Call 914-737-4400 ext. 3714 for more information.

7. Art Exhibits:
-The Balis and Solomon Exhibit will be hosting itson Feb. 12 from 5 to 8 p.m. The show will be on display from noon to 6 p.m. Friday through Sundays until March 13.
-Winter Wonders is on display at the Flat Iron Gallery until Feb. 27. It features paintings, photographs, pottery and new handcrafted jewelry.
-The works of 20 Hudson Valley artists, all students of painter Andrew Lattimore, are on display at Hudson Valley Hospital Center in Cortlandt Manor until May 3.
-Inez Andrucyk’s Poses exhibit will be showing at the Croton Library until Feb. 28.
- The exhibit Emerging Artists in Peekskill, Brian Ben Taylor & John Agne, is displayed at the Field Library until Feb. 25.
- Garrison Landing is the second solo show in the United States by Czech Artist Daniel Pitin. You can view the exhibit at The Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art until April 17, 2011.
-Bean Runner Café: It's Art for Crimes Sake! with Presentation and Book Signing by Stephen Mancusi, who was the senior forensic artist for the New York City Police Department for 25 years., Saturday, 3-5 p.m.
