Five Things You Need to Know Today, Feb. 8

 1. Peekskill BOE Meeting: The Peekskill Board of Education is meeting tonight at 5:30 p.m. at the Administration Center. The public session begins at 7 p.m. Check back with Patch tomorrow for coverage.

2. Lincoln Exhibit: The Peekskill Field Library presents “The Abraham Lincoln, A Man of his Time, A Man for All Times,” National Traveling exhibition on display. The exhibit opened yesterday, Feb. 7, and is open until Feb. 28.

3. Peekskill Planning Commission: The Peekskill Planning Commission will be meeting at 7:30 p.m. in the Common Council Chambers.

4. Looking for Whiz Kids: You might have seen our Whiz Kid feature on Peekskill’s last week. Each Wednesday we will recognize a young member or youth group of the Peekskill-Cortlandt community for his or her achievement. Please send in your nominations – we want to recognize any young person, or youth group (brownie troop, dance crew, sports team, musical group, student organization, etc.) that deserves recognition for something they have achieved.
