Five Things You Need to Know Today, Feb. 9
Art show, BID meeting, Hen Hud BOE meeting, Groundbreaking for the Lincoln Depot Foundation museum, matinee at the Paramount.

1. The Peekskill Business Improvement District will be meeting at 6 p.m. at the Peekskill Library’s DeBart Center.
2. Groundbreaking for 1 p.m. at the Depot at Central Ave. and Water St. Westchester County Legislator John G. Testa, President of the Lincoln Depot Foundation, and former Mayor of the City of Peekskill will announce the beginning of the interior restoration construction project of the Lincoln Depot in Peekskill.
The depot is where President-elect Abraham Lincoln addressed a crowd of more than 3,000 citizens of Peekskill, NY on February 19, 1861 en route to his Presidential inauguration in Washington, D.C.
3. The Paramount Center for the Arts is playing the world premier of If You Give a Cat a Cupcake, at 12 p.m. Based on the book series “If You Give A …” the Omaha Theater is bringing this production with music to the stage. The cat asks his friend for some sprinkles, they spill on the floor and the hijinks ensue. Be ready for you and your child to participate from the audience.

4. There will be a special screening of Westchester Community College Center for the Digital Arts student multimedia work at 6 p.m. The exhibition will include the traditional fine arts of painting and drawing as well as work from the digital arts, such as Digital Imaging, Computer Illustration, Desktop Publishing, Digital Video, Multimedia, 2-D and 3-D Animation. Animation and Video will be exhibited at a special gallery screening during the opening and will play during the exhibition. The reception will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
5. The Hendrick Hudson Board of Education will be meeting at 7:30 p.m. at the Hen Hud High School Library.
