Fred's Pantry Time Change, Rosh Hashanah, Breast Cancer Awareness

1. Fred’s Pantry

The food pantry will open an hour earlier this week from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. instead of 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. this Saturday.

2. Rosh Hashanah

Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, marks the first of Jewish High Holidays.  It began at sundown yesterday and lasts two days.

3. Vote for Dr. Pond Kelemen’s Cancer App

A breast cancer Smartphone application developed by Dr. Pond Kelemen of the Hudson Valley Hospital Center’s Breast Center may be developed by the American Medical Association. The app would be helpful for physicians in assessing breast cancer risk. Vote for the app to win. More information .

4.  Free Yoga for Breast Cancer Patients and Survivor

On Sunday, Oct. 2, Hudson Yoga studio in Croton-on-Hudson will begin weekly classes provided for free to people recently diagnosed with breast cancer survivors. More information .

5. 17^th Annual Support-a-Walk for Breast and Ovarian Cancer Awareness

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month and Support Connection Inc. will be holding its annual walk for awareness on Sunday, Oct. 2.  The 3-mile walkathon will take place at FDR Park in Yorktown Heights at 9 a.m. To sign up click .
