Posted on Patch by John H. Donohue, Peekskill American Legion Post 274: Let's all try to show the youth and others in our community how to honor and show respect for our glorious flag when it passes by in the July 4th parade.
A proper salute or Hand over the heart is in order especially by those reviewing the parade and when the World War 2 veterans pass you by, remember they were the ones responsible for the freedom of so many nations and people and they deserve a special salute and your prayers.
Most of them are 90 years old and older but they still respect the flag and all who died defending it.
Please join them on this most significant day. and let's hang old glory in every residence and let our children know why.
