Heroin, Needle, Pills and Keying a Car

Verplanck Man with Heroin and Needle

On Oct. 25, Michael Boddie, 36, of Verplanck, was charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, possession of a hypodermic needle, misdemeanor, and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicile.

Boddie, who was operating a motor vehicle on the 600 block of Homestead Ave. and was stopped by Peekskill police officer Basso for failure to signal a turn. After further investigation, Boddie was found to have a suspended license and placed into custody. After arrest, he was found in possession of a Hypodermic needle and a small quantity of Heroin. Boddie was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court.

Woman Charged for Keying Car

On Oct. 26 at 10:30 p.m. Samantha Simmons, 20, of Peekskill was charged with third degree criminal mischief, a felony, on the 1200 block of Main Street by Officer Nick Franco. Simmons was charged following an investigation by Franco into damage done to a vehicle that had been parked on Main Street. Franco learned the damage was caused by Simmons who “keyed” a vehicle belonging to an acquaintance following a dispute between the two. The incident occurred on Oct. 23 at approximately 3:45 a.m. Simmons was released on cash bail and is due in Peekskill City Court on Nov. 7 at 11 a.m.

Man Charged for Damaging a Door

On Oct. 27 at 12:15 a.m. Reese Evans, 31, of Peekskill was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief, resisting arrest, both misdemanors; and disorderly conduct, a violation, on the 1400 block of Main Street.

Evans was charged after damaging a door during a domestic dispute and then resisting arrest by fighting with officers who were able to eventually take him into custody. He was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court.

Unconscious with Pills

On Oct. 28 at 2:30 p.m. Nicholas Batchi-Janacek, 21, of Peekskill was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, on the 800 block of N. Division Street.

Batchie-Janacek was charged after being found unconscious in a vehicle parked in a parking lot. EMS was able to wake him up with assistance from officer Kolesar, who found him in possession several different types of pain medication without a prescription (Fentanyl, OxyCodone, Valium). He was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court without bail.
