In Cortlandt, Man Threatens to Take Children from Estranged Wife

Westchester County Police responded to crime against estranged spouses, violation of an order of protection and fight and music complaints.

The following information was provided by the Westchester County Police. It does not indicate a conviction.

Estranged Husband Threatened to Take Children from Wife
At 9:33 a.m. on Sept. 27, a resident of Furnace Woods Road told Westchester County Police that her estranged husband came to her home, kicked the side door to the house multiple times and screamed at her for about 20 minutes, including making threats that he was going to remove their two children from school and “take them with me.”

County police notified both children’s schools of the incident and advised school staff to contact police if the father showed up at either school.

Woman Allegedly Steals from Estranged Husband’s Home
On Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 8:18 p.m. Gail Mastroddi, 46, of Deerhaunt Drive in Montrose was arrested at her residence by Westchester County Police Officer Rob Kelly and charged with Burglary 1st degree, a felony, and Criminal Contempt 2nd Degree and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th degree, misdemeanors.
Mastroddi is accused of breaking into her estranged husband's residence and removing numerous items of his. She is also charged with contacting a family member despite a court-order that prohibits her from doing so. 

Violating an Order of Protection
On Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 1:45 p.m. Kenneth Christiana, 31, of 4th Street, Verplanck, was arrested at his ex-girlfriend's residence on 4th Street in Verplanck and charged with Criminal Contempt 1st Degree, a felony. Christiana is accused of violating an order of protection, which barred him from having any contact with his ex-girlfriend.  Christiana was remanded to Westchester County Jail.

Loud Music Complaint
At 10:19 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 30, Westchester County police received a complaint about loud music at a residence at the Wild Birch Farms condominiums in Cortlandt Manor. A resident at the location agreed to turn down the music.

Fight at Coachlight Square
At 5:43 p.m. on Sept. 27 the county police responded to Coachlight Square in Montrose on a report of two people arguing in the street, but both parties were gone on arrival.

Vehicle Larceny
 On Thursday, Sept. 22 at 8 a.m. a resident of Brandeis Avenue reported to Westchester County Police that someone broke into his car while it was parked in his driveway and stole an iPod Nano, Social Security card and a credit card.  The theft occurred sometime after 5:15 p.m. the day before. The vehicle had been left unlocked.
