Lake Peekskill Man Apprehended During Early Morning Burglary
A Lake Peekskill man was arrested for the burglary of a Putnam Valley home this morning.

On Oct. 25, the New York State Police responded to a Putnam Valley residence following a 911 call reporting a burglary of an occupied residence. The suspect, Brett L. Augustowski, of Williams Street in Lake Peekskill, allegedly broke into the home just before 7:00 a.m., and was found by one of the homeowners, rummaging through the home's garage. Family members held the suspect at the scene until troopers arrived a few minutes later.
The defendant was processed for one count of Burglary in the Second degree, a Class "C" Felony. He was arraigned in the Putnam Valley Town Court and remanded to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 bond. He is due to reappear in Town Court tomorrow at 1 a.m.
The arrest was made by Trooper Heather L. Sinkowitz and Investigator Sean J. Morgan.
