Lakeland, Hen Hud, Yorktown, Peekskill School Districts Closed Oct. 31

Yorktown, Hendrick Hudson, Peekskill and Lakeland Central School Districts are closed Oct. 31 and Copper Beech Middle is being used as a Red Cross shelter.

UPDATED, Oct. 30, 10 p.m.-Hendrick Hudson, Yorktown, Peekskill, Lakeland Central School Districts will be closed Monday, Oct. 31, due to the storm.

Frank G. Lindsey is open Sunday night as a shelter for families in need.

Editor's Note: The Peekskill City School District reported that it would be open Sunday evening, but announced its closing at 10 p.m. Sunday night.

From the Lakeland Central School District.

The Lakeland Central School District will be closed on Monday, Oct. 31 due to power outages at a number of the district's schools, (Lincoln-Titus, Walter Panas, Thomas Jefferson) poor road conditions, downed trees, and power lines from Saturday's snow storm.

The Lakeland Copper Beech Middle School is being used as a Red Cross shelter for residents in need of a place to stay, heat, and hot food. There are about 100 people at the school shelter.
