Living at Our Best, Fall Sports Awards, Thank Your Neighbor
Here are five things you need to know today, Nov. 3.

Hudson River HealthCare will host the 5th Annual Living at Our Best health and wellness event on Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. A Fun Walk begins at 9:30 a.m. and will promote Fred’s Pantry, which is operated by Caring for the Homeless in Peekskill and the newly established Jason C. Paige Health & Wellness Center in honor of the late Jason C. Paige.   Â
2.   Power Update
As of 10 p.m. Wednesday Con Edison reported 680 customers in Cortlandt, 1 in Buchanan and 70 in Peekskill still without power.
3.  Schools Open, One-hour Delay in Lakeland
Lakeland School District is running on a one-hour delay today. Peekskill and Hendrick Hudson School Districts are open and on their regular schedules.
4.   Peekskill Fall Sports Awards Night
At 7 p.m. in the Peekskill High School cafeteria student athletes will be recognized for their hard work this season.
Almost every one helped or was helped this past week during the widespread power outage caused by Oct. 29’s snowstorm. Give your neighbor, stranger, friend or family member who let you sleep on their couch, eat their food or borrow a battery a shout out for helping you out when you were in need.
