Local Veterans Honored, Halloween Parades, Daylights Saving

1.   Congrats to Local Hall of Fame Veterans

New York State Senator Greg Ball is hosting a 40^th Senate District Veterans’ Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Nov. 10. Village of Buchanan resident Russ Harrison and Peekskill resident Duke Searles will be two of twenty seven veterans inducted into the first class of inductees. The Ceremony will be held Thursday, November 10^th in the auditorium of the Putnam County Emergency Services Building, located at 112 Old Route 6, Carmel at 6:00p.m. 

2. Daylight Savings Time

Don’t forget to “fall back” on Nov. 6 at 2 a.m. (Sunday) by setting your clocks back one hour.

3. Halloween Parties Rescheduled

12 Grapes and The Cove have let us know they are hosting their Halloween parties tonight.  If you are an establishment making up for a snowed out party tell us the details in the comments.

4. Hen Hud Halloween Parades
Hendrick Hudson School District is making up for its canceled parades this afternoon. Furnace Woods’ parade starts at 1:10 p.m. and Frank G. Lindsey and Buchanan-Verplanck elementary schools’ both start at 2 p.m.

5. Living Our best

Hudson River HealthCare will host the 5^th Annual Living at Our Best health and wellness event on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. A Fun Walk begins at 9:30 a.m. and will promote Fred’s Pantry, which is operated by Caring for the Homeless in Peekskill and the newly established Jason C. Paige Health & Wellness Center in honor of the late Jason C. Paige.
