2.    Mayor Foster Responds to Newburgh Mayor Valentine’s Insult
After reading Newburgh Mayor Nicolas Valentine’s comment characterizing Peekskill as a “dead city,” Peekskill Mayor Mary Foster sent him a letter detailing all the wonderful ways in which Peekskill is alive. Visit our to weigh in on why you think Valentine was wrong. Also, add a photo of something you think represents life or revitalization in your home city.

3.    Seeking Scout Leaders
The City of Peekskill Youth Bureau and The Boy Scouts of America are looking for responsible adults to become Scout Leaders. They will hold an informational meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 25 at 6:30 p.m. Call the Youth Bureau for more info, 914-734-8418, or visit cityofpeekskill.com.


The nuclear plant will be conducting security training drills during the day and in the evening today and tomorrow. You may hear simulated weaponry that sounds like actual gunfire. The drills began yesterday. IPEC will be conducting the same training drills on Oct. 11, 13, 14, 17, 18 and 20. We will remind you throughout the month.

5.    Hendrick Hudson Board of Education
The Hen Hud BOE will meet at 7:30 p.m. in the Hendrick Hudson High School library.
