Montrose Teen Charged For Kicking Dog, Stealing Car
New York State Police arrested a Montrose teen following a domestic dispute at his home.

On Saturday, Oct. 29 at about 7 a.m., the New York State Police at Cortlandt responded to a home in Montrose for a domestic disturbance. Investigation revealed that a 17-year-old male had allegedly become involved in a physical altercation with a family member. The teen, who fled the scene prior to arrival of the Troopers, was accused of leaving the home with a relative’s vehicle without permission.
The suspect took the keys from the family member by physical force. During the altercation, he reportedly kicked a family dog several times and then picked the dog up and held him in the air by his collar.

He was located nearby a few hours later and taken into custody. He was charged with one count of third-degree robbery, a felony, one count of third-degree unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and one count of torturing or injuring an animal, a misdemeanor.
The teen was arraigned in the Town of Cortlandt Criminal Court and remanded to Westchester County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bail. His next court appearance is today at 9 a.m. in Cortlandt Court.
