Montrose Woman Facing DWI Charge

A 38-year-old Montrose woman was drunk behind the wheel as she drove through Peekskill early Saturday, officials say.

State troopers from the Cortlandt barracks made the arrest at about 3:15 a.m. on Washington Street. They stopped her vehicle because it was identified in a broadcast as "possibly containing persons of interest" after authorities received a report of a bar fight, according to police.

The defendant reportedly failed standardized field sobriety tests. Her blood-alcohol level was 0.11 percent, officials said. The legal limit is 0.08.

Troopers charged the woman with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated. She is due Thursday in Peekskill Justice Court.
