Mural Ceremony at PMS, Freshman Parents Breakfast at HHHS, Wagner Talks Business

Here are five things you need to know today, Oct. 4.

1.    Historical Mural Installed at PMS
The Peekskill Middle School will hold a ceremony for a mural dedication at 5 p.m. in the lobby of the school. The B. James Thornley mural, “Technology Advancement” was painted in 1934 as part of the Federal Art Project of the Works Progress Administration.
The Board of Education will hold its regular meeting following the ceremony.

2.    Local Deacon Dies at Age 85
Hagop “Jack” Ekizian, an active member of the Lions Club, deacon of St. Peter’s church and well known community member died on Sept. 30 at the age of 85. A wake will be held at the E.O Curry Funeral Home on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and the funeral will be held at St. Peter’s on Thursday at 10 a.m. 

3.    Justin Wagner WPress Conference
Wagner, a democratic candidate for New York State Senate District 40 wil hold a press conference to discuss his campaign initiatives to support small business at 10:15 a.m. at The Mail Station in Brewster.

4. Chance of Showers
It seems that with the month of October, autumn came sweeping in with crisp weather and chillier temperatures. Today, the National Weather Service predicts a high near 64 degrees and a fifty percent chance of rain. Tonight the temperatures will drop to around 48 and chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

5.    Hendrick Hudson High School Freshman Parent Breakfast
The HHHS is hosting a breakfast for parents of freshman at 8 a.m. at the high school.
