Peekskill Italian Festival Seeks Miss Festa Italiana Candidates

Press Release from The Festa Italiana Peekskill 2012 Planning Committee is pleased to announce the first annual Miss Festa Italiana Peekskill 2012 Competition. The competition is open to all female candidates who want to compete for the Miss Festa Italiana Peekskill crown, who meet the following criteria:

• Must be of Italian Descent.

• Must be single.

• Must be between the ages of 17 and 24.

• Must be willing to learn a few phrases in Italian.

• Must submit a one page typed paper on: “What charity would you volunteer for and why?”

• Must submit a color photo in digital format.

• Must pay a $20 nonrefundable entry fee.

• Competition is limited to the first 50 applicants.

The girls will be judged in the following categories: charitable contributions, photogenic qualities and evening wear. A panel of judges will be chosen to help select Miss Festa Italiana Peekskill 2012 through a pageant voting process. The judges will view the eveningwear competition on Sunday, August 12th and the winner will be crowned the same day.

The winner will receive a Crown, a Red Rose Cape along with a Sash, Sceptor, a bouquet of flowers and a $500 savings bond. In addition, a check for $250 will be donated to the winner’s favorite charity. There will also be two runners up who will receive flowers and a sash.

To help show their support for this worthy charity event, White Plains Linen/Linens a la Carte, a major community business leader in Peekskill will be donating monies and gifts to the five contestants, as well as table linens for the entire festival.
