How did you come up with the name?

I used to be a Creative Director for the World Wrestling Federation (now WWE), largest sports entertainment company in the world. The best part of my job was to design logos for Pay-Per-View events, TV shows and the wrestlers. When making my reel to show my designs I labeled it “I Go Logo.” It’s years later and I still have a passion for logo design; professional logo design. I work with a team of associates to help widen the scope of design possibilities. True, I cannot do every style needed, like cartooning. So the name has resurfaced only now using “We.” And to drive the point home, the word “Design” is now inserted. WeGo Design Logo is a new company located in downtown Peekskill.

Why start a business in this town?

I have lived in Peekskill for 5 years now and work closely with the Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce with my other business, Stutterdot Design. They have been so helpful in supporting my design in marketing & promotion endeavors it’s hard to resist not working in Peekskill. It’s a great community consisting of smart creative people with very humanistic values and no egos.

What business are you in?

Graphic Design. Focusing on logos for small and large businesses, musical entertainment and events.

What’s the most difficult challenge you’ve faced as a business owner?

Great question. Logo design is very competitive. People, especially small businesses like to, and have to, spend wisely. WeGo Design Logo’s flat rate for logo design is very fair, but may be more than what companies on the internet or business family members charge. We have to convince potential clients that we offer up only professional designs. Designs that work under any circumstance and look strong whether shown in full color or black and white. This requires some educating the clients and we look forward to the challenge.

What’s been your proudest achievement since opening?

This is a brand new business. Just acquired my DBA only weeks ago. So far it has to be the logo I developed for the company. People are really digging it and makes me feel good and knowing I’m on the right track.

How does your business give back to the community?

When working with the Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce, I deal with a lot of local business ads for a weekly newsletter. I make their ads look good via typography and strong Calls To Action to get them noticed.
