Peekskill Teen Charged with Armed Robbery While Already in Jail for Assault

The 18-year-old allegedly assaulted a Shell gas station employee and then robbed a Getty gas station two days later.

The following was provided by the Peekskill Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

While 18-year-old Peekskill resident Corey Blair was in police custody for allegedly assaulting a gas station attendant on Oct. 29, he was additionally charged with second-degree robbery of Getty on Highland Avenue, a felony, police report.

Blair is accused of holding up the attendant at the Getty gas station while armed with a handgun on Oct. 27 at 10:30 p.m. He is accused of stealing several items and about $200 in cash.

While fleeing from the robbery, Blair dropped the gun, which was later recovered and found to be a BB gun. City of Peekskill Police were assisted with the robbery investigation by the Westchester County Department of Public Safety K-9 Unit and a bloodhound. Blair is being held without bail at the Westchester County Jail in Valhalla.

Blair was already in police custody for allegedly assaulting an employee of the Shell gas station on N. Division street two days earlier. He had mistakenly thought the employee was the driver of a vehicle that had backed into his while parked at the fuel pumps. The victim sustained a broken nose and serious facial injuries from the assault and was treated at the Hudson Valley Hospital.

Blair was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court.
