The City of Peekskill issued this notification, via Nixle, at about 4 p.m. Tuesday:
"Thunderstorms capable of producing heavy rain, frequent lightning and high winds will impact [the] area through the evening."
The National Weather Service is calling for the precipitation to continue into the night. Wednesday will bring mostly sunny skies and a high of 78 degrees in Peekskill, according to the agency.
