The 9/11 Remembrance Memorial at Croton Landing is halfway to completion.
If fundraising efforts and grant requests are successful, the finished product—complete with a bronzed statue, a remembrance garden, additional benches and a storyboard with a how-to on reading sundials—could be ready in about 12 months.
If you haven't recently visited the memorial, a project that Janet Mainiero spearheaded along with other folks from Buchanan, Cortlandt and Croton-on-Hudson, there is a ceremony at 3 p.m. today, Sept. 11. Click through the attached photos for a look at the sundial and the memorial's surroundings.
Folks interested in donating to the memorial may find more information here. Commemorative medallion plaques are available for purchase.
