Police: Man Caught Lighting Bottle Rockets Undeterred by Police Charge

Peekskill police charged a local man for unlawfully lighting fireworks on July 4 and found him doing the same the next day.

A Peekskill man was charged with the same unlawfully dealing with fireworks violation two days in a row after lighting bottle rockets on Smith Street this July 4 holiday.

Responding to a complaint of fireworks on Smith Street at 11:10 p.m. on July 4, Peekskill police found 34-year-old Peekskill resident Alvin Anderson lighting off bottle rockets, police report. They charged him with possession of fireworks and released him on his own recognizance.

The following day around 8:45 p.m. officers responded to another report of fireworks on the same street and once again found Anderson lighting bottle rockets. Anderson was charged with a second count of fireworks possession and is due in Peekskill City Court on July 23, 2012 to answer both charges.
