Police: Peekskill Man Fled Police After Assaulting Female

 The following was provided by the Peekskill police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Gregory Carter, a 39-year-old Peekskill resident, is accused of assaulting a female acquaintance, causing her injury, on two separate occasions on June 14 and 18. Carter was being sought for the June 14 incident when he assaulted the victim again and fled police who responded to the second incident. He was apprehended several hours after the second incident after police observed him on Main St. He was charged with two counts of third degree assault, a misdemeanor, and is being held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court.
