Public Hearing on Peekskill Budget, Everyday Heroes at HVHC, Entergy Securtiy Drill
Here are five things you need to know today, Oct. 11.

1.   Public Hearing on Peekskill Budget
The hearing will be at 7:30 p.m. during the Common Council meeting. Read about the city manager’s proposed budget that would raise taxes 3.4 percent .
2.   Indian Point Security Drills
Entergy will be running security drills today and this evening. You may hear simulated weaponry that sounds like actual gunfire.Â
At 11 a.m. the HVHC will hold a ceremony to honor 11 employees chosen as employees of the month throughout the year.

4.   American Craft Week Starts Oct. 15 in Peekskill
Peekskill’s Clay Studios in the Hat Factory is gearing up to celebrate American National Craft Week. Opening day is this Saturday at the Clay Studios from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Twelve local and area artists will display their work for sale. Visit peekskillclaystudios.com for more information.

The National Weather Service reports a high near 75 for today and party sunny skies. Clouds are expected to move in tonight with a low near 53.
