Woman Charged with Stealing $3,000 Worth of Jewelry Could Face 4 Years in State Prison
A 22-year-old woman is accused of stealing $3,000 worth of jewelry from a Putnam Valley home; jewelry was recovered and returned to owner.

Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a 22-year-old Putnam Valley resident on criminal charges stemming from the reported theft of jewelry from a private residence.
On September 15, 2011, Investigator John Alfano of the Sheriff’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation, developed information that $3,000 worth of jewelry had been stolen from a Putnam Valley home. His investigation led to the development of Valerie A. Stanzione of 701 Sprout Brook Road, Putnam Valley as the primary suspect in the case.

Investigator Alfano recovered the stolen jewelry, which was identified by its rightful owner.
On October 12, Investigator Alfano arrested Stanzione and charged her with Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, a class “E” felony. She was arraigned before Putnam Valley Town Justice Louis DiCarlo and remanded to the Putnam County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash or $10,000 secured bond.

Stanzione remains in jail pending a November 10, 2011 court date.
If convicted of the charge, Stanzione may face a term of incarceration for up to four years in a New York State correctional facility.
