In Cortlandt, Roads Closed, 27 Percent of Residents Without Power

A post storm update from Town of Cortlandt Supervisor Linda Puglisi.

Cortlandt Town Superivsor Linda Puglisi provided the following updates (summarized):

  1. The town’s supervised shelter at the Muriel H. Memorial Center at West Brook Drive will remain open.
  2. The Town had a safe Halloween and saw a great turn out at last nights party.
  3. Twenty-seven percent of residents are still without power as of 11 a.m. this morning. This is down 40 percent from yesterday at 11 a.m. However, Puglisi says this is not acceptable and Con Edison has and will receive the town’s complaints.
  4. There are more ConEd crews are in the community todaythan yesterday to assist with untangling wires, which is their responsibility.
  5. Once the wires are clear town crews will go in to assist with cutting the branches. In the mean time, town crews will continue to be out throughout the town removing branches, tree limbs and trees from the town roads that do not have a problem with the Con Edison wires in order to make the roads completely passable.
  6. There are currently nine roads closed due to downed wires, eleven less than yesterday.
  7. Con Edison has dry ice available at B.J.s in Yorktown until 7 p.m. today.
  8. Town Hall has power and is off the genetaror. All offices are in operation.

Puglisi asks residents to “please remain safe, use our shelter if needed and than you for your cooperation as we get through this sever snow storm and its aftermath.”
