1. Services for Mendia
There will be visiting hours for Santiago Mendia from 5 to 9 p.m. tonight at Nardone Funeral Home in Peekskill. The funeral will be held at the Assumption Church at 10 a.m. Thursday.

The City’s cooling center in the neighborhood center will be open until 9 p.m. tonight.
3. Cold Front Could Cause Severe Weather
After another day of blistering heat, locals may welcome the news of a cold front coming our way, according to the National Weather Service. For today, expect temperatures into the high 80s then watch for torrential rain, damaging winds and thunder and lightning, starting after 1 p.m.
