Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued For Parts Of Hudson Valley

There is a low probability of hail and/or a tornado, according to the National Weather Service.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for parts of the Hudson Valley.

The National Weather Service said the watch is in effect until 8 p.m. Friday.

The watch affects Columbia, Dutchess, Putnam and Westchester counties.

A hazardous weather outlook was previously issued for much of the mid- and lower Hudson Valley for Friday.

Damaging winds and scattered severe thunderstorms are possible for the lower Hudson Valley, while in the mid-Hudson Valley there is a slight risk for severe thunderstorms and a low probability for hail and/or a tornado.
