Toughman Triathlon Peekskill-Cortlandt Road Closure Sept. 9

The 56-mile bicycle course will be located on the Route 9/9A southbound lanes.

The following is from the Village of Croton:

On Sunday Sept. 9, the 5th annual Toughman Half Triathlon will take place in Croton.  The event begins at at 6:30 am with a 1.2 mile swim. The 56-mile bicycle course, which begins at 7:15 am, will be located on the Route 9/9A southbound lanes.

The southbound lanes will be entirely closed to vehicular traffic from Annsville Circle to Briarcliff Manor from 5:30 am to 1 pm.

Residents who wish to travel south should use the following detour: Route 129 east to Quaker Bridge Road, travel over the Quaker Bridge, continue south on Quaker Bridge Road south until it meets Albany Post Road, continue south to access Route 9 south in Ossining.

The 13.1 mile run course which begins at 9:30 am will travel through Van Cortlandt Manor out to Route 129.  The road will remain open, however, the lanes will be narrowed with cones and you may experience delays travelling on Route 129. Residents are encouraged to cheer the runners on as they travel to and from Croton and to head out to Croton Point Park to witness the finish. There will be shuttle bus service from the train station to the park between 5 am and 4 pm.
