Vandalism at Frank G. Lindsey, Breast Cancer Fundraisers at Walter Panas and Augie's
Five things you need to know today, Oct. 12

1. Hen Hud Board of Education Budget Meeting
At 7:30 p.m. the Hen Hud BOE will meet to discuss final details of the bond proposal cost and scope.
2. Panas Breast Cancer Fundraiser
Lakeland and Walter Panas High School are holding a breast cancer awareness fundraiser Thursday at 6 p.m. The event will be the district’s 2nd Annual “Dig Pink” Volleyball Match. All proceeds will go to the Sideout Foundation.

3. Hendrick Hudson Fields Closed Due to Vandalism
On Saturday, the Hen Hud School district discovered a person or persons drove a truck through the softball, field hockey and practice football fields located to the west of Frank G. Lindsey Elementary school. All three fields sustained damage, and will be partially closed until Oct. 17. School officials are working on rearranging sporting events scheduled to take place on the fields. Read the district’s full announcement here.

Pay $10 for pink hair extentions, drink pink and more at Augie's restaurant from 7 to 9 p.m. Proceeds will go to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
5. Bring Your Umbrella for the Commute Home
The National Weather Service reports that rain is likely after 5 p.m. The day will be cloudy with a high near 62. And keep the umbrella by the front door, as rain is expected through Friday.
