Local Students Compete In Regional Spelling Bee
Pelham students Evan Kaplan and MacPherson Alderman competed in the Long Island Regional Spelling Bee.

Congratulations to Pelham Middle School 8th grader Evan Kaplan and Siwanoy 4th grader MacPherson Alderman,who were the very first Pelham students to compete in the Long Island Regional Spelling Bee on Friday, March 24 as part of the Scripps National Spelling Bee Competition. Evan placed 6th overall while MacPherson made it through four difficult rounds of the competition, which included 50 contestants from Westchester, Nassau and Suffolk Counties.

Both students advanced to the regional competition after earning the top two spots in the Pelham Public Schools District Spelling Bee.
