Pelham School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Pelham is September 7. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Pelham School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 9/7: Schools Open
• 9/21-9/22: Rosh Hashanah (No School)

October

• 10/9: Columbus Day (No School)
• 10/17: 2 Hour Delay - Staff Development

November

• 11/10: Veterans’ Day Observance (No School)
• 11/14: 2 Hour Delay - Staff Development
• 11/22: Early Release
• 11/23-11/24: Thanksgiving Day and Recess (No School)

December

• 12/6: Parent/Teacher Conferences (6-12) (Half Day)
• 12/7 & 12/13: Parent/Teacher Conferences (K-12) (Half Day 12/7, No school 12/13)
• 12/25-12/31: Christmas Day and Holiday Recess (No School)
• 12/13-12/20: Hanukkah
• 12/26-12/31: Kwanzaa (No School)

January

• 1/1: New Year’s/Final Day of Kwanzaa (No School)
• 1/2: Schools Open
• 1/11: 2 Hour Delay - Staff Development
• 1/15: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (No School)

February

• 2/5: 2 Hour Delay - Staff Development
• 2/19-2/23: Presidents’ Day and Winter Recess (No School)

March

• 3/5: 2 Hour Delay - Staff Development
• 3/7 & 3/8: Parent/Teacher Conferences (K-12) (Half Day)
• 3/30: GoodFriday/Passover (Begins at sundown on 29) (No School)

April

• 4/1: Easter
• 4/2-4/6: Spring Recess/Passover (No School)
• 4/19: 2 Hour Delay - Staff Development

May

• 5/21: 2 Hour Delay - Staff Development
• 5/28: Memorial Day (No School)

June

• 6/1: 2 Hour Delay - Staff Development
• 6/13-6/22: Regents
• 6/22: Regents Rating Day/ Last Day of School
