"Barefoot Contessa" Ina Garten certainly satisfied the appetite of her fans in Plainview.
The Food Network host packed customers into the Woodbury Road SpopRite for a book signing and cooking demonstration Friday.
Hundreds were on hand for the event, and Gartner told Newsday (paid site) that events like these can make her uncomfortable.
“I don’t leave home often; you might say I’m one step less than an agoraphobic," she told the paper.
But the Long Island-based celebrity chef, who was launching a new frozen food line, said she wanted to produce quality dinners for those on the go.
“Every single day of every single week everybody wants to know what’s for dinner,” Garten said. “So I thought it would be great to answer that problem for people.”
