• 'Patients Deserve Better:' NYSNA Northwell Nurses Vote To Authorize Strike (patch.com) — Plainview Hospital nurses, along with colleagues in Huntington and Syosset, have overwhelmingly voted to authorize a strike if Northwell Health does not reach a new contract agreement by Dec. 31. Union leaders and local nurses say unsafe staffing levels and protecting patient care are at the heart of the dispute, while Northwell insists it is bargaining in good faith to reach a fair deal.
