St. Pius X Bids Farewell to its 'Shepherd'

Monsignor Domenick Graziadio spends final day on job Wednesday.

Wednesday marks the end of an era at St Pius X as Monsignor Domenick Graziadio steps down after 12 years.

Graziadio celebrated his final Sunday Mass earlier this week and said goodbye to parishioners at a reception afterwards.

His official retirement mass was held last month and packed the church to capacity. A tent had to be put up outside the church to handle the overflow crowd of more than 600 people.

Numerous local clergy took part in the ceremony and the reception afterward that was catered by Town Bagel and Bella Vista Plainview.

The parish presented Msgr. Graziadio with a hand carved bench with his signature sign-off.

“You have the unique love of this shepherd" written on it.

He will be replaced by Rev. Valentine Rebello.
