TOBAY Land Vote, Networking for Creative Types This Week

These are some of the biggest events this week in the Plainview area:

Land Sale Vote is Tuesday

Voters will decide whether the town can sell its DPW complex for $32.5 million. The issue revolves around the contentious 18-year fight over a mall proposal, and is much more complicated than that. You are not being asked whether to vote for or against a mall.  See our explainer here for details.

Networking for Creative Types and the People With the Money

The "Inside Connection," a network for entertainment, media, performing arts and creative professionals, and the people who do business with them, is holding a networking event at Mio Posto in Hicksville Tuesday beginning at 6:30 p.m. See details here.

Plainview's Turf Field is Coming Along

We'll have pictures from the work being done on the new turf field being built at Plainview JFK. The work is on target for the first home game; we'll have an update this week.
