Port Chester Man Arrested for Attempted Assault

A 60-year-old Port Chester man was arrested for attempted assault of a 27-year-old man who was his acquaintance on July 15, police said.

The older man allegedly punched the younger man in the face at Bosco’s Deli on Poningo Street around 9 p.m., according to the victim’s statement to police. The suspect also had a knife in his waistband, but he did not use it, according to police.

The victim had a swollen lip and eye, but refused medical attention. He told police who assaulted him and they found the man outside of his house where they placed him under arrested for third degree attempted assault, a misdemeanor.
