$3.75M Federal Grant Will Help Erosion Project In Port Jefferson: Report
There is erosion at the top of East Beach bluff just a few feet away from the Port Jefferson Country Club's clubhouse, Newsday reported.

PORT JEFFERSON, NY — A $3.75 million Federal Emergency Management grant will stave off erosion on the bluff that the Port Jefferson Country Club sits on, Newsday reported.
There is erosion at the top of East Beach bluff just a few feet away from the country club's clubhouse, the outlet reported.
The grant monies will go to a $9 million project in which steel plates and vegetation will be placed at the top and bottom of the bluff to stop further erosion, according to the outlet.

Sen. Chuck Schumer told Newsday that East Beach is "eroding rapidly," adding, "It’s going to stabilize the East Beach bluff … and assure that this can be used for decades to come.”
