DWI Charge After Car Crash Seriously Hurts Passenger On Long Island: Police
He lost control of this car, and it left the roadway, striking another vehicle and a fence late Friday night, Suffolk police say.
TERRYVILLE, NY — A Selden man has been accused of drunken driving after crashing his car and seriously injuring his passenger in Terryville late Friday night, Suffolk police said.
Marcio Sanchez-Padilla was driving a northbound 2005 Nissan Altima when he lost control of it, and it left the roadway before striking a parked vehicle and a fence in front of Half Mile Road, at around 11:38 p.m., according to police.
Sanchez-Padilla’s front-seat passenger, a 40-year-old Selden man, was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries, police said.

Sanchez-Padilla, 29, was also taken to the same hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said, adding that he was charged with driving while intoxicated and will be arraigned on a later date.
The Nissan was impounded for a safety check, police said.
