PORT JEFFERSON, NY — The owner of Roger's Frigate's free-speech rights were infringed upon when Port Jefferson Village officials cited him for hanging pro-Donald Trump and anti-Andrew Cuomo signs two years ago, a Port Jefferson judge has ruled, Newsday reported.

The shop's owner, George Wallis, was accused of violating village sign ordinances because his banners were too large and he did not have permits, according to Newsday. Mayor Margot J. Garant told Newsday the village plans to appeal Higgins’ decision.

Roger's Frigate is at 99 Main St., Port Jefferson.
